Well, I did finish the background and got it installed! She's been climbing all over it, so I think it's a success! I just need to make the time to sort through my pictures and do a coherent write-up. I am loving that Excavator clay, although I've seen warnings that it can be a hazard if she gets the wet clay stuck to her. I keep it packed down and dry, but I make sure to check on her several times a day. So far, so good.
Thankfully, she's gotten used to the rats. No more screaming, thankfully. I had my brother's beagle last weekend, and she was screaming at her, too. That got the dog barking, so it was pretty chaotic. Once the dog went home, she settled back in. All I hear now is an occasional squeak if I pick her up to do something to the tank. I'm glad to hear your little one's doing well too. I bet she's also losing her baby colors almost daily? I'm starting to see a few spots on Cheeto's back, and I think our geckos are pretty close in age. I laughed to think of her standing in the bowl staring. I bet that's such a cute sight to see. Glad to hear everyone else is doing well! Hopefully, the corn snake does settle down a bit.
That is such a gorgeous python! Her eye stripes are really pretty! So glad she's healthy and well-socialized. I love snakes, but I'm really not sure I'm up to the task of feeding them, even pre-killed or frozen/thawed. I get upset when I have to kill the field mice that move in, but I can't let them get my pet rats sick. Someday, I really want to get over that and have a snake. Or three. lol
I miss you and some of the others from HC so much. I lurk every now and again, and I was so sad to hear Spooky's leo didn't make it. In fact, it was hers and your posts about your leos that made me get Cheeto when the opportunity presented itself. I didn't delete my HC account, so returning in the future is an option. I just get put off when people come on so strong, then repeatedly argue a point apparently without reading my response. I'll always respect more experienced advice, but its frustrating to feel like I'm doing nothing but repeating myself. I do sincerely want to return at some point in the future, though. In the meantime, I'm glad you found me here. Check back in a few days for the finished product, and good luck with your mini zoo! You have such beautiful animals!
